2015 Beauty in Review: Skincare

I am always looking to perfect my skincare routine and fill my shelf with products that really work, today I'm sharing some of my top shelf from 2015 that is coming into 2016 with me.

Acure Organics Facial Cleansing Crème

I am currently working my way through my third replacement of this cleanser. I really cannot fault it on anything. After I remove my makeup with coconut oil I go in with this cleanser and it removes any last remaining traces of cosmetics and oil without leaving my skin feeling tight and dry.

Acure Organics Argan Oil

This is the best quality organic argan oil I have tried and it has the best price by far at only $12.99, it's a steal. Fast absorbing, non greasy and does not clog pores, what a winner. As I said before I do have acne prone skin and I know so many people with acne are extremely anti oil in everything skin related but it is so important for the health of your skin to keep it hydrated from the inside and out. If you have acne prone skin or oily skin, try using a pump of Acure Organics argan oil as your nightly moisturizer, your skin will thank you by being smoother and softer than ever before. Also for those with an oily skin type keeping your skin properly hydrated can lead to the reduction of excess sebum and balance out your oil production.

Indeed Labs Hydraluron

A product I was hesitant about purchasing and finally tried out that I completely became obsessed with after just one tube. It really helps keep your skin hydrated for longer. I consider it to be a must try for those of us who suffer from chronic dehydrated skin.

Unfortunately it has recent disappeared from all the US vendors’ website so it looks like I am on the hunt for a new hyaluronic acid serum and it’s a rough search as everyone that I have looked at is so extortionately priced, and I once thought their $25.00 was expensive for the size of the tube but honestly with very regular use the small tube lasted me roughly almost four months.

UPDATE: I was recently in contact with a representative from Indeed Labs and which they shared with me that it is currently out of stock in the US but will be coming back and they will be launching their own online store.  It is very exciting news to me that eventually I will have Hydraluron back in my life.

Sanitas Oil Free Moisturizer

Sanitas was a brand I was not familiar with but I heard it mentioned in a youtube video by someone who always has flawless skin so I decided to try it out. As someone who has dry skin I have never shied away from oil based moisturizers and I never gave oil-free ones much thought as I never thought they could provide an adequate level of moisture for my skin. Sanitas oil free moisturizer has definitely changed that opinion completely. A detailed review is coming soon.

Sanitas Glycotoner 15%

Another great product from Sanitas, the name pretty much says it all, this is a 15% concentrate of Glycolic acid in toner form. Glycolic Acid is a great chemical exfoliant that aids in the fading of hyperpigmentation and evening out uneven skintone. I haven't been as consistent as I should with product but even with that fact it's still given my great results better than I anticipated.

Cocoon Apothecary Rose Dew Facial Toner

A very luxurious skincare extra I purchased from the online boutique Revescent, this is an organic rose water facial toner. I have a love hate relationship with toners. On my skin toners either work beautifully or break me out incessantly, thankfully this one in particular was the former. Cocoon Apothecary Rose Dew facial toner is purifying and anti-bacterial organic rose hydrosol making it a great choice for acne prone skin. To use I would spray generously after cleansing and before moisturizer. This toner is universal and recommend it for all skin types.

Cocoon Apothecary Ancient Mud

Along with my first purchase from Revescent they sent along a sample of this mask from Cocoon Apothecary. After just the first application the results were rapid, over night some active acne spot were significantly reduced or dried out. I soon after placed an order for the full sized to keep in my skincare arsenal. This is a potent botanical mask that detoxifies and exfoliates the skin.

Mogi Mousse Face Cream

A rich organic Face Cream that hydrates and smoothes skin, I have a review on this cream here, but in summary I find it to be absolutely amazing. I think there is something magical about this particular blend of organic oils. I do have acne prone skin but I don’t find this irritates or clogs my skin at all. I feel like because the ingredients are so pure of a much higher quality the oils really are able to penetrate my skin better and they still retain their natural healing powers and are very soothing to my sensitive skin.

Perfect Image 20% Salicylic Acid Gel Peel

My first experience with such a high concentration of Salicylic acid, I tried this peel out with the pursuit of smoother skin. This peel exfoliates and clears out clogged and blocked pores. I have a in depth editorial coming soon on this product so stay tuned.
