Swatches of the New HydraFluid Water Serum Foundation from Pur Minerals
PÜR’s encapsulated water complex delivers Swiss Alps-sourced water to hydrate the skin for lasting radiance while providing silky, medium coverage. HydraFluid water serum foundation is incomparably lightweight yet offers the perfect amount of coverage and satisfies the desire for dewy, breathable, luminous looking skin. This is the chosen foundation to create “bare-looking” but perfect complexion whatever your skin tone or type. Water sourced from the Swiss Alps is known for its high purity and is the ideal mineral water to refresh skin.
PÜR Minerals hydrafluid foundation comes in 5 different shades, I have swatched all five above. The shades range from fair to deep with varied undertones depending on the shade you select. The color closest to my skin color is Tan, which is a cool yellow-based skin color. The shade range is modest, so those who have exceptionally fair or deep ebony skin may not find a shade that suits their skin. Hopefully if the positive response to this foundation continues it will inspire them to expand the range.
Hydrafluid has a customizable coverage from sheer to medium plus. For a fuller coverage I use a quarter size amount of foundation to cover my face. It best applies with the use of a dense foundation brush; I use a flat top kabuki style brush to achieve the best coverage. I then use the PUR Minerals beauty sponge to make sure everything is well blended. As someone who has dry skin I sometimes have unfortunate dry patches that many foundations either don’t stick to or worse cling to every crack in the dry patch, fortunately I can report this foundation does neither. It creates a smooth even skin base.
The foundation is very lightweight with a natural luminous finish. It glides onto the skin effortlessly, leaving a hydrated glow as opposed to a shimmer based glow that can overly accentuate blemishes and skin texture. The skin looks slightly glossy after application; I set it by using my beauty sponge and pressing powder over top which helps extend the wear.
I’ve worn this foundation without primer for several days and it lasted my whole day out, 6-8 hours. I do blot my nose once in the middle of the day but other than that I found it wore very natural and did not separate on the skin, I also did not experience any oxidation. If you have a primer you like then I definitely recommend you wear it, I am currently shopping around for one. But even without primer I was very pleased with how this foundation wore it is like wearing nothing at all.
Overall I really enjoy this foundation, I love the coverage and natural finish it is very undetectable on the skin. I am not sure how well those who have oily skins would enjoy this as you will not get a matte finish when wearing this foundation. However if you have normal to dry skin I think it’s worth a try.
I do not believe this foundation is vegan but PUR does have a vegan-friendly shopping section on their site (here).
