Today I have a new brand and new product to introduce you to. Jillian Dempsey is a celebrity makeup artist with a client list that includes Kate Winslet, Jennifer Lawrence, Kirsten Stewart, and more. She has a very relaxed and chic distressed style to her makeup looks. Jillian has recently released two cosmetic items under a self named brand Jillian Dempsey; she’s created a creamy kohl eye pencil and the eye tint a satin shadow, both are cruelty-free and vegan.
I purchased the Bronze eye tint from her line on Amazon, it is available in a total of 5 different shades; Bronze, Lilac, Peach, Plum, and Smoke. The Jillian Dempsey eye tint is not your run of the mill cream eye shadow; I would describe it as sheer eye balm. It creates a sheen on the eye making it as close to a wearable glossy eye as you’re going to get.
You can apply the eye tint alone or below and above eye shadow, I have found it best applies with first a finger then using a dense brush to diffuse the edges.
I expected the Bronze shade to be more of a warmer golden brown instead is more of a neutral minky brown, which is fine it just was not exactly the shade I was hoping for. The texture is similar to a tinted lip balm but for the eye, it does not dry or set but stays movable and reflective. This is something that is going to crease but it was really created to suit those who like a chic, distressed eye look.
I do like the Eye Tint but I hope to see some more colors from them, and maybe some with slightly higher opaque color. They are super easy to wear, I especially like them on light makeup days in which I just haphazardly blend it on with my ring finger and it gives a even light reflecting tint that opens the eyes.
I'm really excited to see more vegan makeup coming out, and I think anyone who like me really likes a glossy eye and wants that effect for an actually wearable look should check the lid tints out.
Below is a video from Jillians Youtube showing a quick application with fingers of the Bronze Jillian Dempsey Eye Tint.
